With over 30 years experience throughout the team, we offer a friendly, professional stress-free moving experience so rest assured you will be in safe hands from start to finish.
We are based in Ruskington and cover all local areas and will travel anywhere in the UK to get you to your new destination. So whether you’re moving 2 miles or 200 miles you will get the same quality of move
REMOVALS
No move is ever the same we can do as much or as little as you require each move is catered to your own individual needs. No matter how big or small each move is completed with same care and attention whether you’re moving 2 miles or 200 miles away. Choosing Joe Carr Removals & Storage you will be in safe hands from start to finish.
PACKING
We offer both a part pack and a full pack service which can be tailored to your own individual needs. Alternatively if you would like to pack yourself all materials are provided in the price, delivered upon quote acceptance and collected once all unpacked at your new home. Packing Guidelines will be sent out with your quote if you need a helping hand.
STORAGE
We offer our own in-house storage options on a short or long-term basis all depending on your situation and volume of goods, all can be discussed to which will suit you best.
– 20ft containers: £120 + vat per month
– Wooden Crates: £40 + vat per month
DISMANTLE & REASSEMBLE
We offer a dismantling & reassembling service of any items of furniture that is required whether it be beds or wardrobes, all will be pointed out and discussed with you during the assessment of your move and can be included in the price of your move or can be quoted separately.
TIPS & ADVICE & MOVING CHECK LIST
With so much to think about during your move, we have created some helpful tips & advice and a moving check list that you can use to help you keep on track during your move so you won’t forget anything. These will sent out to you with your quote.
INSURANCE
All moves come complete with full goods in transit and storage insurance if needed included in the price quoted.
AS STANDARD
We take pride in our work all flooring/carpets and stairs will be protected upon arrival and all furniture will be protected when loaded onto our vehicles. Sofa’s will be covered using our professional covers and mattresses will be protected using our mattress bags. All large pictures/mirrors that don’t fit into boxes will be placed into our padded professional picture bag.

February 16, 2018 Joe Carr has provided an amazing service today, through thick snow and blizzards. He has moved my snap on tool box (which is 6ft long and weights well over 1/4 tonne, empty) from Lincoln to Boston with no trouble at all, while others struggled to get to work. February 28, 2018 - From my first interaction on the phone to Joe assessing my stuff. I was very impressed. The Team that moved me from Sleaford to Ely were efficient, polite and helpful. My partner was working, but these guys couldn't do enough to make sure it was easy for me. Even my Mother was impressed as she watched on as they sanitised themselves and took care of my stuff like it was their own. June 19, 2020 Can’t recommend Joe Carr Removals highly enough! Joe and his guys were very polite, tidy, kept both properties clean with numerous floor coverings, the one on the stairs we kept down for a week whilst we moved other stuff. Nothing was damaged (except a glass I packed! 🙄). They treated all our possessions with such care. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the guys, even when I didn’t quite know where I wanted a wardrobe to go! If we ever move again, Joe is the first call we will make for removals!!

Ben has been part of the team from pretty much the start having worked for 2 nation wide companies in the past he’s now the main HGV Driver/Forman of the firm now and he brings a wealth of experience, he never lets us down and always makes sure the job is completed to high standard on all occasions.
SIMON
Simon has been part of the team for over 5 years now along side assisting on moves he’s now taken on a more office based roll within the company assisting in the general day to day running on the business, from answering all the initial enquires, assessing your moves and organising the diary.
LEE
Lee is one of our part time members, he has been here since the beginning, he started off with Joe as soon as he set up on his own back in 2018, helping out on moves at the end of the week or whenever he can, he brings years of experience and a positive go to attitude to work with him helping all moves go smoothly every time.

FAQs
Where are you based ?
We are based in Ruskington, near Sleaford in Lincolnshire and cover all of the UK
How much notice do we need to give to book ?
This can vary, if the process with the solicitors/estate agents goes nice and smoothly normally 2-3 weeks notice is enough. All you need to do is keep in contact with us on a regular basis with how everything is going and we can do the same with our availability around the time of your move.
When should we book a Pre-Move Survey?
As soon as you like. There is no rule when you should book your Pre-Move Survey. In our opinion the earlier the better. Don’t leave it until the last minute when you finally get a moving date this could cause last minute stress which you don’t need.
What do we do with big Pictures/Mirrors ?
If you have chosen to pack yourselves, go on a basis if they fit in a box pack them in a box and any large pictures/mirrors that don’t fit in boxes, leave them to one side and we will deal them on move day for you.
Can you move Motor Bikes/Piano’s ?
Yes of course. We have professional piano wheels/piano slippers specially designed to move upright and grand pianos. We also have ramps specially designed for our vans to get motor bikes in and out of the van/truck safely.
Does everything get covered in the vans/trucks ?
YES DEFINETLY. All items of furniture will be covered using our removal blankets we carry 100’s. Sofa’s will be covered using out professional passed covers. Mattresses will be put in single use plastics bags. Large Pictures/Mirrors will be placed into our professional padded picture bag.
Do we need to empty drawers ?
We only advice removing breakables & liquids from drawers. If there are only clothes/materials/non-breakables in the drawers these can remain, should the chest of drawers be too heavy, we will remove the drawers prior to moving and then put them back in once the items in on the van/truck and same again at the delivery end.
What payment methods do you use for us to pay?
We take payments via bank transfer, cash or cheques
How long does the move normally take on moving day ?
This all depends on the volume of goods you have that require moving and where abouts you are moving to. During the Pre-Move Survey we will be able to give you a idea on timings. For example whether the move can be completed in 1 day or if we need to be with you the day before to make a start on loading.
What if we get keys late?
Again this does depend on volume of goods that require moving. If you only have a small amount of goods should you get keys late we will normally be able to still get everything delivered for you that day. However should you have a substantial amount of goods, we would advice us delivering mainly your essential items (beds, sofa, tv, overnight bags etc.) and then we return the next day to deliver the remaining items. This will be discussed during the Pre-Move Survey.
Are you Insured?
YES OF COURSE. We are fully insured with goods in transit insurance, public liability and storage insurance should you need this.
Are there hidden costs?
No not at all. All information is provided to you upon the receiving the quote. Our Terms & Condition explain everything and we are always on the end of the phone or email should you be unsure of anything at all. We will always make sure you are clear on everything before we take payment for any booking.
Do you provide Packing Materials?
YES OF COURSE. We can provide you with all the packing materials you need to complete the packing yourself. We also provide a very useful set of TIPS & ADVICE, A MOVING CHECKLIST AND PACKING GUIDLINES. These are sent along with your quote and provide lots of useful information you may need throughout your entire move, we also have a Social Media Hub where you can download them directly to your phone/tablet. AGAIN, we are always on the end of the phone should you need any advice or assistance.
What can we do to help out on the day?
We are there to take as much of the stress away as we can during your move. On the morning of the move before we arrive, if you can make sure all driveways/Infront of the property is clear of vehicles so we can get our truck/vans as close to the property as we can. Other than that as long as the kettle is on hand we can take care of the rest.
What should we keep until the end of the move ?
We advise making some SAFE ZONE piles consisting of items you may need access to quickly throughout your move or on the first night in your new home. SAFE ZONE items may include. keys, phones, phone chargers, laptops/tablets, wallets, purses, handbags, money, jewelry, important documents/paperwork, passports, change of clothes, overnight bags, medication, toiletries.
How many staff members will there be on move day?
We will definitely send a minimum of 2 staff members.
How many vehicles do you have?
We have a fleet of vehicles consisting of 3 luton size vans and also a 18t Removal Truck all are fully equipped with professional moving equipment and very experienced, friendly, trusted staff members . During the Pre-Move Survey we will advise on what vehicles will be needed to complete your move.
What do we do if we’re too far away for you to provide a quote?
Not to worry, if you’re located a bit too far for us to assess your move in person, we will arrange a video call and discuss everything that way.
How do we pack clothes on hangers?
We have professional sturdy wardrobe boxes to accommodate your clothes on hangers, during the Pre-Move Survey we will make note how many you need and bring them on the day of the move.
